The Sooner Scientific Adjustable Nucleic Acid Sequencer is available in two widths for either the Maxam-Gilbert (33cm) or the Sanger-Coulson (20cm) sequencing method.These adjustable sequencers provide the flexibility of running sequencing gels with path lengths from 22cm up to 1 meter.

The upper buffer reservoir rides on three 1-inch diameter delrin rods and is secured at the desired height by three stainless steel thumbscrews. These rods are arranged in a triangular configuration on a 1/2" thick acrylic base to add strength and stability to the entire system. Both upper and lower reservoirs have drains with tubing adapters for easy disposal of radioactive buffer solutions. Convenient quick-disconnect tubing coupling with shut-off valves can be ordered as an alternative to the tubing adapters. Additionally, both reservoirs are easily detached for buffer drainage or routine cleaning. Upper and lower reservoirs feature safety covers with attached leads. Unit can be easily disassembled into components for compact storage.

Each sequencer also includes:

• Interlocking safety covers with attached leads
• Leak-proof silicone gasket on the upper reservoir to which the glass plates are clamped
• Platinum electrodes
• Leveling base with bubble level
• Bussed together power leads (CE approved)
• 6 molded white spring clamps
• Buffer drainage ports
• SeaQuate pre-mixed acrylamide/bis gel solution is shipped with each order. Ready to use fast and easy. SeaQuate comes to you in 1 pre-mixed bottle containing TEMED, Urea, TBE and acrylamide. Add APS and pour the gel. Choose One: SQL 4301, SQL 5301, SQL 6301 or SQL 8301.

Special Features - Adjustable height sequencers at heights of 42cm, 62cm, and 82cm.

• The maximum gel length of any system can be easily extended up to 1 meter by purchasing longer accessories. For example, if a researcher has a RF-500-33 (52cm capacity, 33cm width) sequencer and desires to run 1-meter gels, this is accomplished simply by ordering 1-meter guide rods, glass plates, and spacer sets.
• A wide selection of precision-machined combs and spacers is available, including sharkstooth combs for "side-by-side" sample application and linear and exponential wedge spacers.
• Anodized heat dispersion plates can be ordered to clamp onto glass plates to evenly distribute the heat generated during electrophoresis, eliminating the "smile effect."
• Compressible, long-lasting silicone gasket on face of unit provides leak-proof seal when glass plates are clamped in place.
• Bottom buffer reservoir conveniently detaches from base of unit for ease in disposal of radioactive buffer solutions.
• Unsurpassed Versatility - designed to adapt to changing methodologies. Can run short gels for oligo-nucleotide separations as well as long gels for pre-parative DNA separations or analytical sequencing on same unit by ordering appropriate accessories.
• Adjustable systems are offered in two widths, (20cm and 33cm) and provide flexibility to run 22cm, 32cm, 42cm, 52cm, 62cm, 82cm, or 1-meter gel lengths.

Safety Features - Safety cover is removed by pushing on counter-balance push button with thumb, while simultaneously pulling upward with fingers.

• Safety covers are extended over glass plate sandwich on upper reservoir for maximum protection and have attached power leads. Safety covers are easily removed with a counter-balance push button. (See photo on left.)
• Power leads have a retractable sheath banana plug on male end, leaving no metal exposed, and will not short out if dropped. (Complies with European safety standards.)
