Sooner Scientific offers two sizes of Horizontal Mini-Gel Units with gel bed dimensions of 5.5cm x 8.5cm (above right) or 7.5cm x 10.0cm (above left). A variety of adjust-able height combs can be ordered for each of these units. Safety covers come with interlocking power leads and can be easily removed using push-pins. Shipped with a SeaQualite Agarose Free Sample chose any one of 18 types (SQA-01-SQA-18).UV transparent gel trays are available as an accessory.

Each unit also includes:

• TAPERED BAFFLE SYST EM - Machined tapered baffles adjacent to either end of the bed permit quick and easy pouring of an agarose submarine gel. Slide both baffles into grooves next to gel bed and pour gel solution into place. (See photo.) After gel has solidified, simply slide the gates out of the slots and store in spaces conveniently located at either end of the unit for later use. Gels also can be cast in the unit on the accessory UV transparent gel tray. To precast gels in a gel tray simply tape the tray ends.
• Platinum electrode is sealed in side wall, shielding it from the buffer as it descends to bottom of unit, and is only exposed along the base of the reservoir on both sides. This helps to protect the platinum and provides a uniform field across the width of the gel.
• Precision-machined polycarbonate combs can be adjusted to desired height above the gel bed.
• Gel beds are made from UV transparent acrylic, allowing gels to be scanned at 275nm-325nm without removing them from units.
• Sample size is minimized, with as little as 2µl required per well (16-well comb, LFT-102T).

Accessories - COMBS: LFT-102T combs come in 1.0mm and 2.0mm thicknesses with 1,2,3 (two larger lanes and one center marker lane or three wells of equal size), 8,10,12,14, or 16 wells. LFT-200T combs come in 1.0mm and 2.0mm thicknesses with 1,2,3 (two larger lanes and one center lane or three wells of equal size), 8,10,12,14, or 16 wells.

GEL TRAYS: Gel trays can be ordered for the LFT-102T (Cat.# LFS-100) or the LFT-202T (Cat.# LFS-200) and are made from UV transparent acrylic.
