Semi-Dry Electroblotter
Quick Running Time Safe Rugged 2-Piece Design
The Semi-dry electroblotter is a simple 2-piece design of rugged construction with no fragile graphite blocks or expensive exotic composites. The unit is easy to clean simply use warm water and wipe down with a paper towel or sponge. Available in two sizes: 10cm x 20cm and 20cm x 20cm electrode surface. Other units on the market use exotic materials to keep the anodes from oxidizing, well we do to but we have turned to a material that has been used for years by electrochemists. Ruthenium Oxide coated titanium is robust and cost effective. It is not fragile like graphite, it is less expensive than titanium with platinum electroplating. The cathode is stainless steel. There are only two major components, no complicated clamps or mechanisms. Build your stack on the base and add the top cover, attach the power cords to the power supply and in 15 to 20 minutes your gel is transferred. This unit is very durable and the enclosure will not crack or shatter. The unit may be immersed in water to clean, wipe dry with a cloth, sponge or paper towel. Made with Royalite DKE 400 durable and will not crack or shatter. Power cords and mylar masking material (masking off the unused portion of the electrode surface) are shipped with the Semi-dry electroblotter.
