DNA Workstation Cat. # Q-048, with dual door closure.
The DNA Workstation is designed to protect against contamination in sensitive DNA amplification reactions in the following ways:
1. UV irradiation of working area prior to use blocks replication of contaminating DNA sequences by causing adjacent pyrimidines to undergo dimerization.
2. Protects against cross or airborne contamination by limiting exposure of experimental set-up to open lab environment.
The 30-minute timer (supplied with the germicidal lamp) conveniently controls The DNA Workstation decontamina-tion. To decontaminate, the user simply UV irradiates the work area with doors closed (as shown above) 15 minutes prior to DNA procedure and 15 minutes just after use. The The DNA Workstation is 2 feet deep x 2 feet high and is available in widths of 30, 36 (single door closure), and 48 inches (dual door closures).
This acrylic, non-ventilated hood is equipped with the following:
Door closure(s) are closed to prevent contamination, and can be conveniently stowed away during experimental procedures (as shown above) by sliding into storage compartment(s) in the base of the DNA Workstation . Hinged glass fascia can be easily lifted out of way for placement and removal of a thermal cycler (or other large equipment), and dual fluorescent lamps provide work surface with excellent visibility.
Accessory Table -
Accessory table can be ordered so that DNA Workstation doesn't
infringe on valuable bench-top space. Locking casters are also available,
transforming workstation into a moveable work area.
